Steer Clear Of the Abattoir

It is said that if many of the general public would turn instantly vegetarian if they had to spend a few hours in an abattoir watching sheep,Tods uomo Gommino Guidare Scarpe con Black Tie anteriore, lamb and beef cattle killed and gutted.

This is probably true and it is also true that there are many individuals as well as whole societies that live perfectly happy and nourished lives without meat.

The problem is it is hard to think you will never again eat a delicious fillet steak with pepper sauce,Nike Air Max 2011 Mesh Sort Lilla Sko, greens and potatoes washed down with a decent bottle of Burgundy. So the moral of the story is that you should never take up the offer of a school outing visiting your local friendly slaughterhouse.

It is just protein after all and taken to its logical conclusion there should be nothing wrong with cannibalism. This idea was developed in a famous science fiction story which was also made into a popular film.

When people lived to a certain age and were past their usefulness they would enter a soothing room and lie on a bed listening to the music of their choice whilst drifting into unconsciousness and death. The corpse then went into the meat grinder,Nike 6.0 Braata LR Premium Skate Sko - antracit / Varsity Red /!

At this point you should be picturing the fillet dish without the fillet.

Fortunately we have not reached that particular fictional situation and the stark fact is that meat in moderation is an important part of a diet and secondly if we did not eat meat there would be no beef cattle.

Apart from cows for dairy products the male of the species would be bumped off at birth. The fields would be devoid of cattle,Nike Air Presto Sko Purple, sheep and pigs. Farming would cease to be anything other than arable and this would put about half of all the farmers in Britain alone out of a job.

It is therefore quite daft to get sentimental about farm animals but what we should all insist on is that factory farming should come to an end. This will mean meat products will be more expensive but we should all reach into our pockets to pay the difference between factory and free range and if we can't then eat soya beans.

Writing of soya beans reminds me of an old eccentric vegetarian Aunt coming to stay. Out of respect I ate no meet the week she was in the house and on the day of her departure bought a nice big sirloin and threw the remains of the nut loaf I had made her the evening before into the open fire place.

The nut loaf glowed and gave off heat for about six hours and at some point I did the calculations of nut cost plus cooking expense versus coal price.

It was a close run thing but for a moment I believed I had found an alternative heat source.

The animals all live on the farm along with all the necessary farm supplies to keep them fed and healthy and hopefully not crammed into dark sheds all year round.
